The idea that a photographic image can only instill a visual response is the norm; Nicole Lucas wants to change that. Through a visual medium, she seeks to create imagery that will stimulate all of the viewer’s senses at various times by creating imagery that carries observers through alternating reactions with sensual, stark, imposing, exciting and sometimes disturbing imagery.

For over 15 years, Nicole Lucas has been a Detroit-based photographer, taking part in exhibitions locally and nationwide. Her international accolade is a piece of work that is part of a permanent installation in Toronto.

5ive represents the culmination of a wide variety of themes she has explored over the years, including figural studies, concert photography, local landscapes and still lifes.
